From History to Hip-Hop is an arts integration workshop that chronicles the evolution of America through it's music, uncovering and showcasing the interconnections from the field song and spirituals of the 1800s to today's modern musical genres: gospel, blues, country, jazz, R&B, rock & roll, funk and hip-hop.
Bass Vocalist, Jonathan Blanchard is a touring & recording artist from Memphis TN. As a teaching artist, he provides a variety of programs, bringing history to life through music. Usually accompanied by a full band, Blanchard has shared his unique, arts integration, approach with groups of all ages, live and virtually. Jonathan has proven to very skilled in getting students to engage through music, theatre and creative writing, with his concerts, workshops, residencies, and virtual programming.
