April is Autism Awareness Month. Help us raise awareness with our ninth annual See the World a Different Way 1M 5K 10K 13.1, 26.2!
At least 15% of every registration to the Doug Flutie Jr Foundation for Autism, which was founded in 1998 by former NFL and Boston College Quarterback Doug Flutie and his wife, Laurie, both from Natick, Massachusetts. After their son Doug, Jr. was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, they wanted to ensure that other families affected by autism had opportunities for support and access to services. Now in our 25th year, the Flutie Foundation offers several programs to help people and families of all ages affected by autism live each day to the fullest by alleviating the financial distress caused by an autism diagnosis and making sure services are available to all people with autism regardless of their ability to pay. Although people with autism continue to see amazing progress from innovations in autism treatment, these innovative and transformative interventions come at a high cost. The Flutie Foundation is here to help!
Doug Flutie Jr Foundation for Autism What: This is a 1M, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 virtual run (or walk) to create awareness for Autism! You choose which distance you want to complete!
When: Complete your race any time in April 2025!
*Medals and bibs will start shipping out March 15, 2025. After that they will ship out within 2 to 5 days of signing up.
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us).
Why: Because this is our way of celebrating seeing the world a different way!
What is a virtual race? A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Running and walking on your own, or with friends! And your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5Ks, 10K, half marathon and more! Each of our races benefits a different charity. We’ve already raised more than $892,045 for charities from running events on this website! We are making a difference…one race at a time.
