About this event
MAGDALENA
Magdalena is a musical collective with a mission to captivate, enlighten, and uplift audiences of all generations through the beauty of early music. Driven by a shared belief that music of the past holds something special for every person, Magdalena strives to bring listeners of all ages and backgrounds into immersive and transformative concert experiences that celebrate early music’s enchanting sounds and rich traditions. In this program, these enterprising musicians — each a graduate of Peabody Institute — perform French music of the Medieval to the Baroque from the pens of Josquin des Prez, Pierre Guédron, Adrian Le Roy, Pierre Attaingnant, and François Couperin.

About the venue
Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located in the heart of Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon neighborhood. Its tremendous stone tower at the corner of Cathedral and W. Read Streets serves as a beacon in this community, and the nave's warm acoustic and gentle ambiance contribute to creating an ideal environment in which to hear choral and chamber music.
In 2022, the church building underwent a $3.2M transformation to make each space in its physical plant fully accessible to all; included in this project was an elevator, increased ramp access, and new restroom facilities.
