About this event
Ah Young Hong
“Absolutely riveting … one could not imagine a more brilliant performance” — The Chicago Tribune The Chicago Tribune The Chicago Tribune Groundbreaking soprano Ah Young Hong frequently graces the stages of major opera houses and concert halls interpreting a vast array of repertoire — ranging from Bach and Monteverdi to Shostakovich and Kurtág — and we are excited to welcome her to Emmanuel for an intimate and rare Baltimore concert performance. In this program, Ms. Hong bridges the gap between old and new, performing works ranging from chant of 12th-century mystic Hildegard von Bingen to modern works of Michael Hersch (b. 1971), a trailblazing composer with whom she has cultivated a special working relationship in recent years. Join us for this exquisite and varied evening of music!
